Laura and Bills Traditional Wedding

There is something to be said about tradition.  Laura and Bill had a very traditional wedding in April with the ceremony being held at Belin United Methodist Church in Murells Inlet, South Carolina and the reception being held at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach.  The bride wore a beautiful halter top gown from Southern Brides in Florence, South Carolina.  The flowers were all different colors of roses with the spotlight being the brides gorgeous all white rose bouquet provided by Blossom’s Events.  With a  black and hot pink themed reception guests and the happy couple dances all night to entertainment provided by Carolina Entertainment.

Courtney & Joel

Courtney and Joel were married at Magnolia Plantation, on a beautiful sunny day May, 30.  They had a very small intimate wedding with family, friends, and their adorable pooch, Boone.  With about ten quests their wedding was all about them!  Mosaic Catering did a fantastic job providing an afternoon menu for the couple and there guests!

Lace & Burlap Wedding

Samantha and Max met at Coastal Carolina University and after three years of dating they couple decided to show off their southern roots with an outdoor wedding at Magnolia Plantation.  With local and out of state  guests, the couple used mason jars, lanterns, and lots of burlap and lace for an old Charleston feel.  While waiting for the ceremony to begin guests were able to sip on sweet tea and lemonade out of mason jars with blue chevron straws to add the final touch. The colors were sapphire blue with hints of yellow in the flowers and centerpieces.  Duvall Catering and Events continued the theme of old southern by providing Charleston cuisine including shrimp and grits and Palmetto Brewery beer.  Guests were able to indulge in their own personal taste when it came to dessert.  Being a lover of all sweets, Samantha had cupcakes by Cupcake Downsouth which were displayed on a large black tier surrounded by mason jars.  Everything really came together and made for a classic southern wedding.

Chad & Holly’s Stunning and Romantic Boone Hall Plantation “Day After” Session

Many of you may remember Chad & Holly’s incredible wedding day story from October 2013. Chad was in a car accident the day of the wedding and fractured his L1 Vertebrae. But they were still able to say I Do that day. To read more of that story and view the wedding day images click here  https://richbell.com/for-better-or-worse-in-sickness-and-in-health-chad-hollys-incredible-wedding-day-2/

Well it was about five months after the wedding, and we were able to go out to Boone Hall Plantation for their wedding photos! It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Holly wore her dress again (and WOW, Mell Bell and I remembered immediately why we loved it, she looks amazing). Chad was able to wear the suit that he was unable to wear at their wedding. Chad is doing great! His back is still healing and he has gone back to work. They both are so in love and it shows in every photo how grateful that are that Chad survived the crash ON HIS WEDDING DAY and that their love has great even more through this!

It may sound cliche, but every day is truly a gift!

Katelyn & Joshua’s Summerall Chapel Ceremony & Village Hall Reception

This sweet couple with very sweet families celebrated their wedding day in a relaxed but traditional style. Fun times!

Michelle & Justin’s Tidewater Chapel Wedding and Lookout Pavilion Reception

Michelle is absolutely adorable! Her and Justin have been together since high school. Since it has been a long time in coming they really just wanted their special day to be a time to spend with each other and their family members. They had personalized Jones Sodas, which were absolutely awesome! Love, love, love it!

Lauren & Noah’s Harboside East Wedding

Lauren & Noah said their vows at Harboside East on a warm Friday evening in August. The view of the Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge provided a beautiful background. They are such a sweet couple and it was truly my honor to photograph their special day!

Maggie & Zeb: Summerall Chapel and The Citadel Beach House

This past Saturday, I had the honor and privilege of photographing the wedding of two very dear friends, Maggie & Zeb. We have all known each other since my family and I moved to Charleston when I was only 13 years old!!! Maggie and Zeb had an incredibly beautiful and fun wedding. I can’t say enough about how perfectly everything came together, so thank you to everyone who put so much hard work into making such a special day happen. 🙂

I had a hard time picking out “just” a few for this blog…so stay tuned for their album design to see all the rest!

I highly recommend the band Soul Fish, by the way! They were just amazing and everyone had SO much fun! They can really keep the party going!
(If you’ve never heard them play, you should…they play often at several different Wild Wings as well as Rooftop at Vendue and others!)

Jesse and Liza’s Wedding at St. John’s Lutheran Church and Three Lions Pub

Click here to see the wedding album!

Jesse and Liza were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church–a historic beauty nestled in a hard-to-find alley in downtown Charleston.  The group had a great time and we had lots of opportunity for some creative portraiture.

Liza is a DELIGHT. The best man, Brian, captured it in his toast, that this bride is the happiest and kindest person he knows.  Jesse hit it big on this one.

Three Lions Club on Daniel Island is quite a find!  The venue provides several different adjoining rooms with posh furnishing where guests could gather and have conversation, but the flow and dancing happened very organically.  Good choice!

This wedding was a particular pleasure to be a part of, as Jesse and Liza and I went to High School together.  So it was great seeing some of my old friends and classmates.
