Ashley and Michael’s Relaxed Charleston Wedding

Coming from Memphis, Tennessee Michael and Ashley decided to join their lives together at Creek Club at I’on in Mount Pleasant, SC.  Ashley wanted a small stress-free wedding, Event Works helped make that vision come true with a classy blue and green theme.  Beth from Wildflowers, Inc created beautiful spring time bouquets for the bride and her attendants.   D’lish made a small tiered cake along with different flavored cupcakes for the occasion.  The couple was sent off in a boat surrounded by sparklers.

A stylish DYI wedding at Magnolia Plantation.

Johnnie and Chin have been vacationing in Charleston for many years and knew Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was the perfect place for their wedding.  Much of the wedding was DYI with inspiration from blogs and etsy.  Chin wanted a romantic, Charleston feel to her wedding so she had moss hanging around throughout the reception and the signature cocktail was called “The Magnolia”.  The day of coordinator, Charleston Wedding Studio, and the florist, Wildflowers, Inc helped to make this vision come to life.   The wedding cake was designed by Artistic Cakes by Linda and was a round white cake with babies breath and pink and orange roses on each layer.  Johnnie and Chins wedding was also featured in Charleston Wedding Magazine, http://charlestonmag.com/weddings/feature/banking_on_good_ideas, for more pictures from this beautiful wedding check out this link!

Holy City Wedding

Engaged at Holy City Brewery, and to show their love for craft beer, Kelsey and Forrest had a wedding reception themed around beer.  The couple planned a small, casual, rustic wedding that incorporated their Irish and Scottish backgrounds, Kelsey’s military family, and Forrest’s South Carolina roots.  The wedding was held at Legare-Waring House at Charles Towne Landing.  Stacey from Red Letter Events was on site on the wedding day to help bring together this beautiful vision.  Signature Players played during the ceremony using violins.  Cru Catering provided an assortment of fruits, cheeses, and vegetables, which a beautiful cake from D’lish was accented with two love birds.  Jade Water Designs created beautiful centerpieces of peonies and the brides bouquet consisted of white and yellow flowers.  The colors, chosen by the bride, represent springtime in Charleston.

Tina and Chris’s Southern Wedding

Natives of Pennsylvania, Tina and Chris wanted a classy wedding that made guests feel like they were in the deep south.  The colors they chose were champagne and ivory to go very nicely with the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Duvall Catering and Event Design helped bring this vision to life with lanterns, hydrangeas, white roses, and lots of candles.  After the ceremony, which was officiated by a friend of the couple, Duvall Catering provided a delicious menu of seafood, salad, mixed vegetables and fruit.

a homemade, destination wedding.

Chicago couple Katy and Jeff were married in Bluffton, South Carolina at St. Gregory the Great  with a reception following at Belfair Plantation on May 18th.  The colors were coral and gold, and flowers provided by Old Bluffton Flowers were white garden roses with a few light pink roses added in.  Being extremely crafty, Katy did much of the wedding design herself.  The invitations and ceremony programs were all designed with her talent in graphic design.  The place cards which were boxes in the shapes of bride and grooms were also made my Katy.  The table numbers were shown with pictures of the bride and groom at the corresponding age. Another personal touch that was added to the wedding was the wedding cake which was made by the grooms aunt.  The “sweets” table also consisted of family cookie recipes from both sides.  While Hilton Head Entertainment provided the music, Katy and Jeff provided the flip flops so guests could “Save their souls and DANCE!” Guests came from out of town so it was important for Katy and Jeff to show off the south while everyone partied and enjoyed the weekend!

Storm Point Pavilion Wedding

Storm Point Pavilion and Red Bank Club are hidden gems in Goose Creek, South Carolina and that is where Jessica and Michael chose to say their vows to one another.  The outdoor setting is perfect for couples who are wanting an outdoor, low key wedding with the beautiful Ashley River in the background.   The colors were a dark plum with pops of bright pink and orange that were absolutely stunning to the eye.

Lori and Chris’ Elegant Boone Hall Wedding

Lori and Chris wanted a classic, elegant wedding that really highlighted vintage Boone Hall Plantation.  Everything from the cotton boutineers to the mason jars showed off a rustic yet sophisticated look that outlined the huge Oak Trees at the entrance to Boone Hall.  Wedding hair was by Carrie at Paper Dolls Wedding Hair & Make-Up.  Modern Trousseau helped Lori pick out her beautiful mermaid style gown.  Stephanie at Sweetgrass Events and Tiger Lily florist created a beautiful reception that used silvers, ivories, and pops of purple throughout.  Old photos of the bride and groom were displayed in old rustic frames and hung up to show off the bride and grooms personal style.  Lace and burlap were a staple as decorating pieces to pay respect to the South!  Many of the decorations were handcrafted by the mother of the bride.  Good Food Catering brought southern favorites for guests to dine on.  Entertainment by DJ Mateo Jones had guests dancing all night.  Cakes by Kasarda created a beautiful four tiered white cake that featured cascading purple flowers.  To end the evening the bride and groom were showered with lavender, cheers, and tears!

Alicia & Steven’s Old Wide Awake Plantation Fall Inspired Wedding

I love Old Wide Awake Plantation in Hollywood, the house, the grounds, the trees, the pond and fountain, all great features!  Alicia spent a lot of time working on wedding details from the center pieces to the signs, with acorns everywhere. It was a gorgeous fall day and their details represented it! Instead of your typical sand ceremony, Alicia and Steven did an Acorn Ceremony, mixing together acorns from his home town and her home town.  The cake was gorgeous with a basket weave icing and flowers on top. And since Steven works in the food industry, I knew the food would be awesome… and IT WAS! It was the first time I have ever seen a Grilled Cheese Station!  Even the moon looked amazing, as the sun went down. Truly a great day, for a sweet couple!
