Storm Point Pavilion Wedding

Storm Point Pavilion and Red Bank Club are hidden gems in Goose Creek, South Carolina and that is where Jessica and Michael chose to say their vows to one another.  The outdoor setting is perfect for couples who are wanting an outdoor, low key wedding with the beautiful Ashley River in the background.   The colors were a dark plum with pops of bright pink and orange that were absolutely stunning to the eye.

Taylor and Brandon’s Intimate Charleston Wedding

When high school sweethearts Taylor and Brandon began planning there Spring wedding they had one thing in mind, intimacy.  The two were married in June at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens under a huge oak tree with the beautiful Ashley River in the background.  Coming from two large families Taylor and Brandon knew they wanted a small wedding that focused on the two of them, the vows they were taking, and the love that they share.  Without the stress of a large wedding, they concentrated on what was most important to them:  each other.  Being a sucker for lace and wanting an old southern wedding, Taylor wore a beautiful strapless lace gown which was accented with a beige ribbon across the middle.  Her best accessory:  her cowboy boots! When a light afternoon shower started Brandon held a white umbrella over his bride while they recited there vows and exchanged rings with one another.  The day could not have been more romantic and special.

Chad & Holly’s Stunning and Romantic Boone Hall Plantation “Day After” Session

Many of you may remember Chad & Holly’s incredible wedding day story from October 2013. Chad was in a car accident the day of the wedding and fractured his L1 Vertebrae. But they were still able to say I Do that day. To read more of that story and view the wedding day images click here  https://richbell.com/for-better-or-worse-in-sickness-and-in-health-chad-hollys-incredible-wedding-day-2/

Well it was about five months after the wedding, and we were able to go out to Boone Hall Plantation for their wedding photos! It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Holly wore her dress again (and WOW, Mell Bell and I remembered immediately why we loved it, she looks amazing). Chad was able to wear the suit that he was unable to wear at their wedding. Chad is doing great! His back is still healing and he has gone back to work. They both are so in love and it shows in every photo how grateful that are that Chad survived the crash ON HIS WEDDING DAY and that their love has great even more through this!

It may sound cliche, but every day is truly a gift!

Stephanie and Jeremy’s Summerall Chapel Ceremony & Francis Marion Hotel Reception

Stephanie & Jeremy wanted their wedding to be a celebration of their new life together with their family and friends. It was an absolutely gorgeous day in Charleston. Summerall was beautifully illuminated in a shade of purple be the sun shining through the stained glass windows, which was amazing since the wedding colors included purple. I wonder if Stephanie planned it that way 🙂 And OMG, CHECK OUT THEIR CAKE!

Wedding at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church and Reception at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

With their wedding at the surprisingly photogenic Divine Redeemer Catholic Church (purple wall,–who knew?) and the unique beach-pier-cabana venue of the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, Jennifer and Jory had the perfect Charleston Wedding.  As a wedding photographer who attends many dozens of weddings a year, I’m not ashamed to say that this family made me cry a more than once.  We made  a very special album preview presentation.  Please enjoy!

The Cast and Crew of the Clemente Players!

I had the pleasure of photographing  the cast and crew of the Werewolf’s Curse, Hair today Gone Tomorrow.  They are currently in rehearsal for their performances the first weekend in April.  They are the Clemente Players, directed by Dr. Sharon Willis (pictured in the front).  All proceeds of the play go to benefit the Clemente Class, which is a pioneering educational experiment for the most needy of our society designed to fight the cycle of poverty by providing higher humanities education to those who would never otherwise have that opportunity.  Click here to see the larger picture!

Leah and Justin’s Waterfront Park engagement session!

I (Valerie) had a really fun engagement photo session downtown with Leah and Justin! Their wedding isn’t until July 18th, but since neither of them live in Charleston, we were lucky to squeeze in their session!

We met up in Waterfront Park, but the majority of our session was spent walking around downtown! We walked over to the train tracks, then to the steps of the Customs House, up East Bay Street a bit (where we shot in one of my favorite alleyways!) and ended back in Waterfront Park. 🙂

Here are a few favorites from their session:
