Wedding Photography at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Historic Rice Mill Building

Kelsey and Gary were married at St. John the Baptist Catholic and hosted their reception at the Historic Rice Mill Building in downtown Charleston, SC.  We were fortunate enough to provide the wedding photography.  Here’s a sneak peek:

Charleston Wedding Venues and Reception Venues

Charleston Wedding Venue, Magnolia Plantation

As a Charleston wedding photographer for so many years, my studio has gotten to see many different reception and wedding venues in Charleston, SC.  We have hundreds of our wedding albums posted on our charlestonwedding.com website.  Here’s a list of some of the more popular wedding and reception sites that we’ve gotten to photograph over the last couple years:

Wedding at St. Luke’s Chapel and Reception at the Wickliffe House in Charleston, SC

I had the pleasure, again, of second shooting for Valerie Schooling a couple weeks ago.    Brennan and Brad were married at St. Luke’s Chapel on MUSC campus, and had their reception across the street at the Wickliffe House (with amazing catering by Mediterra).   Candice at Yoj Events provided flawless and thoughtful coordination.  As always, ECBC church family weddings are always so fun and so sweet.

Wedding at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church and Reception at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

With their wedding at the surprisingly photogenic Divine Redeemer Catholic Church (purple wall,–who knew?) and the unique beach-pier-cabana venue of the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, Jennifer and Jory had the perfect Charleston Wedding.  As a wedding photographer who attends many dozens of weddings a year, I’m not ashamed to say that this family made me cry a more than once.  We made  a very special album preview presentation.  Please enjoy!

Wedding Photography at Sunrise Presbyterian on Sullivan’s Island and Reception at the Sand Dunes Club

Lauren and Joe got married at Sunrise Presbyterian on Sullivan’s Island last weekend.   Sunrise is one of the prettiest churches in the area, and has a great Hurricane Hugo story.  The Sand Dunes Club is a phenomenal venue right on the beach, that can easily host well over 150.  It’s a great place for a party.

Heather and Chris’s Wedding at Dunes West Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, SC

Update:  The album design is now available to be viewed!  Check it out.

Heather and Chris’s wedding was held under the Oaks at the Charleston area venue, the Dunes West Country Club, which boasts one of the most spectacular sunset views in all of Charleston (good sunsets are relatively rare on the east coast). We always break out all the stop to capture the sunset when we have the opportunity to work at this venue.

Here’s a link to Dunes West. Jason and his staff there are very, very good at what they do.

Maggie & Zeb: Summerall Chapel and The Citadel Beach House

This past Saturday, I had the honor and privilege of photographing the wedding of two very dear friends, Maggie & Zeb. We have all known each other since my family and I moved to Charleston when I was only 13 years old!!! Maggie and Zeb had an incredibly beautiful and fun wedding. I can’t say enough about how perfectly everything came together, so thank you to everyone who put so much hard work into making such a special day happen. 🙂

I had a hard time picking out “just” a few for this blog…so stay tuned for their album design to see all the rest!

I highly recommend the band Soul Fish, by the way! They were just amazing and everyone had SO much fun! They can really keep the party going!
(If you’ve never heard them play, you should…they play often at several different Wild Wings as well as Rooftop at Vendue and others!)

Also…Joyce and Chris attended Maggie’s wedding…aren’t they cute?
They’re getting married VERY soon and guess who will be their photographer? 🙂

Jesse and Liza’s Wedding at St. John’s Lutheran Church and Three Lions Pub

Click here to see the wedding album!

Jesse and Liza were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church–a historic beauty nestled in a hard-to-find alley in downtown Charleston.  The group had a great time and we had lots of opportunity for some creative portraiture.

Liza is a DELIGHT. The best man, Brian, captured it in his toast, that this bride is the happiest and kindest person he knows.  Jesse hit it big on this one.

Three Lions Club on Daniel Island is quite a find!  The venue provides several different adjoining rooms with posh furnishing where guests could gather and have conversation, but the flow and dancing happened very organically.  Good choice!

This wedding was a particular pleasure to be a part of, as Jesse and Liza and I went to High School together.  So it was great seeing some of my old friends and classmates.

Rebekah and Korey at Summerall Chapel and the Citadel Beach House

We had the pleasure of photographing Rebekah and Korey’s military ceremony at Summerall Chapel.  This was a happy first for the studio in that, while Korey is a distinguished Marine, he is not an alumni of the Citadel — but Rebekah is attending Grad school there.  Summerall is of course one of our very favorite church settings in Charleston for photography, and the Citadel Beach House is one of the nicest (and well lit) venues that provide for both a beach reception and a large, in-door reception hall.

This classic couple was surrounded so many happy friends and family.  You could tell that their parents were so proud.  I love being around that sort of thing.

Stay tuned for the Full album to be posted later this week!

I think Korey is most proud of this one.
