For their big day the two wanted to focus on the love that brought them together, but also keep things whimsical and romantic. When they were making decisions about their wedding it was important that they celebrate the place that brought them together and where they will be putting down roots as a family together. Magnolia Plantation was the perfect venue for them and from there the details they decided on were sweet colors and rustic accents. With some delicious Lowcountry food and lots of dancing, it was the perfect celebration of their love!

When it came to time to plan their wedding Gene wanted to keep tradition and have the military type wedding at the Citadel. The two wanted to incorporate the traditional military wedding with a laid back beach feel for the reception. They also wanted to incorporate Charleston culture into the reception because they knew it would be a destination type wedding since all of their families are scattered across the US. As a fun touch Mary and Gene chose to go with Shag dancing and lessons, low country boil and pulled bbq pork, and a sword line at the end of the ceremony to keep with their Charleston/Military them! To top off the fun Cocky the Gamecock even made a surprise appearance complete with dancing!

The Creek Club at I’on served a as a perfect venue for the day, with the ceremony underneath the large tree on the lawn, cocktails on the porch and the full party inside where it was nice and cool for dancing! The details were soft and sweet and the two beamed with happiness all day and night long!

After a beautiful ceremony the celebrations got into full swing at Lowndes Grove, a perfect combination of charm and class. The newlyweds danced the night away and after a miniature airplane getaway the two took off in a classic Bentley!

Planters Inn and Peninsula Grill provided the perfect venue, the perfect meals and perfect cake for the sweet, happy couple.
