Mary and Gene

When it came to time to plan their wedding Gene wanted to keep tradition and have the military type wedding at the Citadel. The two wanted to incorporate the traditional military wedding with a laid back beach feel for the reception. They also wanted to incorporate Charleston culture into the reception because they knew it would be a destination type wedding since all of their families are scattered across the US. As a fun touch Mary and Gene chose to go with Shag dancing and lessons, low country boil and pulled bbq pork, and a sword line at the end of the ceremony to keep with their Charleston/Military them! To top off the fun Cocky the Gamecock even made a surprise appearance complete with dancing!

Mary and Troy Summerall Chapel and Citadel Beach House

Mary and Troy were married at Summerall Chapel and the reception was held at the Citadel Beach House in Isle of Palms.  Mary and Troy had a beautiful military style wedding and Wanda took some breath taking pictures by the beach.  Charleston Flower Market provided calla lily arrangements for the day.  We hope you enjoy these beautiful pictures!

Holly and Nathan’s Beautiful Wedding

Holly and Nathan had a very beautiful wedding at the Church of the Holy Cross with a reception at the Citadel Beach house following the ceremony.  The bride and an absolutely breath taking gown that covered her back with lace and had beautiful gathered ruching.  Family is so important to Holly and Nathan and they incorporated family in every aspect that the could, the grooms grandmother even led a Flash Mob at the reception!  Relish Distinctive Catering help to design and cater the event.  Buy the Bunch did a great job working with the bride to make her day so beautiful and unforgettable!

Maggie & Zeb: Summerall Chapel and The Citadel Beach House

This past Saturday, I had the honor and privilege of photographing the wedding of two very dear friends, Maggie & Zeb. We have all known each other since my family and I moved to Charleston when I was only 13 years old!!! Maggie and Zeb had an incredibly beautiful and fun wedding. I can’t say enough about how perfectly everything came together, so thank you to everyone who put so much hard work into making such a special day happen. 🙂

I had a hard time picking out “just” a few for this blog…so stay tuned for their album design to see all the rest!

I highly recommend the band Soul Fish, by the way! They were just amazing and everyone had SO much fun! They can really keep the party going!
(If you’ve never heard them play, you should…they play often at several different Wild Wings as well as Rooftop at Vendue and others!)

Rebekah and Korey’s Wedding Album Posted!

Charleston Wedding Photographer - Home
Rebekah and Korey’s wedding, at Summerall Chapel and the Citadel Beach House is now posted on our site!

Rebekah and Korey at Summerall Chapel and the Citadel Beach House

We had the pleasure of photographing Rebekah and Korey’s military ceremony at Summerall Chapel.  This was a happy first for the studio in that, while Korey is a distinguished Marine, he is not an alumni of the Citadel — but Rebekah is attending Grad school there.  Summerall is of course one of our very favorite church settings in Charleston for photography, and the Citadel Beach House is one of the nicest (and well lit) venues that provide for both a beach reception and a large, in-door reception hall.

This classic couple was surrounded so many happy friends and family.  You could tell that their parents were so proud.  I love being around that sort of thing.

Stay tuned for the Full album to be posted later this week!

on the Citadel Yard.

Summerall Chapel has some of the most elaborate stained glass in all of Charleston.

I think Korey is most proud of this one.
