Wedding images of Katie and Zach on their big day with the reception at Hibernian Society Hall and the ceremony at the recently-restored Trinity United Methodist Church in Downtown Charleston, SC.

Jesse and Liza’s Wedding at St. John’s Lutheran Church and Three Lions Pub

Click here to see the wedding album!

Jesse and Liza were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church–a historic beauty nestled in a hard-to-find alley in downtown Charleston.  The group had a great time and we had lots of opportunity for some creative portraiture.

Liza is a DELIGHT. The best man, Brian, captured it in his toast, that this bride is the happiest and kindest person he knows.  Jesse hit it big on this one.

Three Lions Club on Daniel Island is quite a find!  The venue provides several different adjoining rooms with posh furnishing where guests could gather and have conversation, but the flow and dancing happened very organically.  Good choice!

This wedding was a particular pleasure to be a part of, as Jesse and Liza and I went to High School together.  So it was great seeing some of my old friends and classmates.

Rebekah and Korey’s Wedding Album Posted!

Charleston Wedding Photographer - Home
Rebekah and Korey’s wedding, at Summerall Chapel and the Citadel Beach House is now posted on our site!

Rebekah and Korey at Summerall Chapel and the Citadel Beach House

We had the pleasure of photographing Rebekah and Korey’s military ceremony at Summerall Chapel.  This was a happy first for the studio in that, while Korey is a distinguished Marine, he is not an alumni of the Citadel — but Rebekah is attending Grad school there.  Summerall is of course one of our very favorite church settings in Charleston for photography, and the Citadel Beach House is one of the nicest (and well lit) venues that provide for both a beach reception and a large, in-door reception hall.

This classic couple was surrounded so many happy friends and family.  You could tell that their parents were so proud.  I love being around that sort of thing.

Stay tuned for the Full album to be posted later this week!

Leah and Justin’s Waterfront Park engagement session!

I (Valerie) had a really fun engagement photo session downtown with Leah and Justin! Their wedding isn’t until July 18th, but since neither of them live in Charleston, we were lucky to squeeze in their session!

We met up in Waterfront Park, but the majority of our session was spent walking around downtown! We walked over to the train tracks, then to the steps of the Customs House, up East Bay Street a bit (where we shot in one of my favorite alleyways!) and ended back in Waterfront Park. 🙂

Here are a few favorites from their session:

Last Wedding Album Design of 2008

(post by Valerie)

That’s right, folks. The 2008 calendar year is coming to a close, and wow what a year it’s been! Can you believe that (Nathan & my weddings combined) our studio has shot 63 weddings this year!!!! And of course we’ve also shot countless sessions of engagements, bridals, family portraits, babies and children.

We LOVE what we do, but boy oh boy have we been busy!

Katie and David’s wedding at St. Luke’s Chapel and the Wickliffe House, Charleston, SC

St. Luke’s Chapel and the Wickliffe house are a perfect venue combination in downtown Charleston. They are a half a block walk from one another just off of the MUSC campus. Katie and David put together a sweet ceremony and reception which offered so many great picture possibilities.

The ladies got ready at the Wycliffe House where the reception was later held. Great old house with lots of windows, which makes for pretty pictures ;)

Katie didn't let her dad see her dress until the wedding day when they had this very sweet moment.

More fun on the stairs 🙂

This was Katie's Special request, to have a picture in the stained glass window.

Wedding at Waterfront Park, by the Pineapple Fountain in Historic Charleston!

Lourdes & William got married in Waterfront Park, right by the Pineapple Fountain! Of all the engagement sessions I’ve done downtown in that area, I was thrilled that Lourdes and William chose me to photograph their special day.

Lourdes had the neatest veil – so stylish!

She is such a fun person, and a natural at modeling! (And the sunset lighting was ideal!)

Her parents came all the way from Venezuela for her wedding! Here’s a fun selective color edit I did of her dad walking her down the aisle:

William and Lourdes smiled the whole ceremony. It is easy to tell that these two are very much in love!

Here’s one with a good view of the pineapple fountain. (Did you know that the pineapple is an international symbol of welcome? Just another tidbit of Charleston History from your photographer-tourguide, haha!)

It got dark so fast…and we had to get creative with lighting!

Shooting a large wedding party in the dark of night was a huge challenge…and the pictures turned out to be so neat and unique! I love this one:

I love this one of Lourdes and William in the alley by Waterfront Park. We snapped this one quickly on our way to the reception!

William & Lourdes have such a great sense of humor between them. She wore red shoes (which I think is fabulous) and her bridesmaids had red dresses. To be funny, William (and all of his groomsmen!) wore red socks to match.

This one captures so much of their personality in the “looks” they give each other. I love it!
