Karilyn and Matt

Karilyn worked with Katie Jean Events to create a day with everything she loves:  romance, water, southern traditions, vintage, and lace!  Karilyn and Matt were married by Coastal Hospitality at The Island House in John’s Island.  Guests dined on food provided by Duvall Catering and a beautiful cake by Cakes by Kasarda.  We got to party all night with Union Road, a band out of Raleigh, NC.  Karilyn had an elegant lace dress from Gown Boutique of Charleston.  Her colors were teal and white and Katie Jean did a wonderful job setting up an amazing evening!

Mea and Clay

It was a beautiful day on John’s Island, and the perfect setting for Mea and Clay’s wedding day!  The Island House was the background for the day and Ashley Nicole Events used Mea’s colors of eggplant purple and green to accent mother nature and the flower arrangements by JW Weddings and Events.  Dodeline printing had great details on the couples invitations including a sketch of the house.  Event Haus and Innovative Event Services worked together in creating a classic atmosphere for the reception.  Guests dined on food by Hamby’s and had a sweet cake by Charleston Cakes, Etc.  After guests danced all night to EPIC Charleston the couple left in a car provided by Vintage Limo Charleston.

Emily and William

Emily and William had a sweet October wedding at The Island House. Thanks to gorgeous Charleston weather the flowers at the Island house were blooming beautifully still! The ceremony over looked the water where the bride and groom exchanged endearing vows. After an intimate ceremony the party began. Delicious food was prepared by Three Little Birds and guests enjoyed cupcakes from Butter Cupcakes. Everyone danced the night away thanks to the music provided by Other Brother Entertainment. It was a lovely time had by all!

Kamilah and Tashir

Nothing could stop these two from saying “I DO”, not even the hot July sun!  Kamilah and Tashir were married at the Island House on John’s Island, and with such breathtaking views it is no wonder they did not care about the heat.  It was such a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.  Confetti of Charleston did a great job designing the coordinating the event.  I loved the burlap table runners and the beautiful wildflower pictures Wanda captured with the bride and her bridesmaids.  Congrats Kamilah and Tashir, and thanks for letting us be apart of your special day!  You can also check out more of Kamilah and Tashir’s wedding published in La Belle Africana here.motley-0099 motley-0311 motley-0386 motley-0507 motley-0527 motley-0534 motley-0542 motley-0545 motley-0695 motley-0697 motley-0698 motley-0707 motley-0714

Megan and Ben’s Island House Wedding

After waiting almost two years for Megan  to finally agree to go out on a date with Ben, it only took a year for these two love birds to get engaged!  Megan and Ben had a long distance relationship from Charleston to New York before Megan moved to New York, however the couple chose Charleston as the location for there wedding.  Megan did a wonderful job putting mocha brown and light yellow together to make a beautiful color scheme. They could not ask for a more beautiful warm November day at  The Island House on John’s Island!

Island House, Johns Island Wedding

Jessica and Ryan were married in June at the Island House on Johns Island.  The location serves as the perfect place for an outdoor ceremony by the water and a reception with a plantation vibe.  Both Southern and Beach!  Jessica wore a form fitting white gown with mint colored heels.  Her theme of shabby chic was shown throughout with the colors being mint, coral, peach and neutrals.  Guests were able to show off their favorite team with a photo booth in which the props included hats and foam fingers.  Crazy Dutchman Catering provided a buffet dinner which included cornbread, potato salad, grits, and a salad bar.  For dessert the couple had cupcakes with a coral and mint love bird and heart on top.  Charleston flower market provided a beautiful white and coral bouquet while the bridesmaids carried bouquets of babies breath.   The tables had white vases with flowers and each guest had a mason jar and koozie to  take home with them.  The couple was sent off in a sea of coral and mint ribbon.

Megan & Cisco’s Ceremony and Reception at The Island House

I met with Megan in November 2011 to talk with her about her wedding. And like most of my clients, we clicked. When we met and did their Engagement shoot at Magnolia Plantation earlier this year, it was my first time meeting Cisco. I promised not to make him do anything cheesy, which I think made him feel better about it! Megan’s bridal portrait session almost was rained out, but thankfully the weather cleared up and the sky looked beautiful at Boone Hall. So when their wedding day came, we had already spent a lot of time together which made it feel more like I was fortunate enough to be shooting a dear friend’s wedding. The flowers at The Island House were all in bloom and butterflies were flying around everywhere! Everyone had a fabulous time singing karaoke at the reception! The sunset set at The Island House is always amazing and this night was no exception! Congratulations Megan & Cisco, you guys rock!

Svetlana & Jason’s Island House Wedding

It was a day of crazy weather. But thankfully, we had enough breaks and they were perfectly timed so we were able to get lots of great photos! I love these guys and their story. They’ve been together since high school and been apart for a long time through college. So excited to see them start their life together!

Ellen & Bryan’s Island House Wedding

Thankfully the rain held off and gave us a beautiful sunset. These guys are so much fun! Their first dance was great and Bryan even sang a special karaoke song to Ellen!

Wedding and Reception at Johns Islands gem… The Island House

The Island House is a great location for a wedding because it has so much to offer. It’s on the water, has room to great ready, a couple of flower fields, even a salt flat! While we were hoping one of the fields of flowers would be in bloom, we got the corn field instead! I just love the photos we were able to take there. Whitney and Andrew were so adorable! Enjoy their preview!
